What is the difference between IPL and Laser technology?
IPL or Pulsed Light Systems work in the same way as Lasers but are not Lasers. The main difference between a laser and a pulsed-light system is that lasers produce a beam of light at a specific wavelength (or colour), with specific characteristics that make them mostly suitable for a specific treatment only. This means a number of separate lasers are needed to provide a comprehensive range of cosmetic and medical services, ie; hair removal; skin rejuvenation; acne treatment; the elimination of thread veins etc. Pulsed light systems, on the other hand, give the user the ability to change the wavelength/colour of the light – by changing the filter system within – which make them much more versatile in the range of treatments that they can be used for. So often, clients can be treated for various conditions using the same machine. For years clinicians have been asking for one machine that does it all. And while there are still some particular treatments for which they are not really suita
