What is the difference between “inmate sick call” in D1 and “physician/mid level practitioner occurrences” in D2?

The primary difference between D1 and D2 is who initiates the medical contact. In D1, the JPS is looking for inmate-initiated sick call occurrences, where the inmate requests a first level/triage visit to either the nurse, physician or physician’s assistant. In D2, the JPS is looking for those contacts that are initiated by either the nurse, physician or physician’s assistant in order for a follow up visit. In simple terms, D2 can be seen as appointments that are not inmate-initiated, but initiated by medical personnel for the purpose of a follow up contact.
