If you are hunting in the field, meaning you are not part of the hunt staff, a black heavy twill wool or black Melton coat is necessary. It should have plain black buttons and be worn with buff or tan (never white) breeches, a white shirt, a white stock tie with a plain gold pin worn horizontally, canary vest with plain brass buttons, black dress boots without tops, black or white string gloves, and a safety approved black helmet.
