What is the difference between ILR and ELR/ELE?

0

Essentially the difference is in terms of the length of time a person is permitted to remain in the country. As it suggests, ILR means there is no limit on this. ELR/ELE carries a time limit, which can be anything up to four years, but the reality is that after the expiry of ELR/ELE , applicants are often granted the right of stay. However, this is not always the case, and in some cases (e.g the Kosovan evacuation in 1999), there is an express intent to return people when it is safe to do so.
