While there is a great deal of misinformation in the public about the benefits of CO2 vs. Ho:YAG TMR, there have not been any randomized clinical trials comparing the clinical benefits of the two technologies. In a practical sense there are numerous differences however. Ho:YAG is a solid state laser which minimizes service requirements, minimizes the size of the laser, and allows the use of flexible fiber optics for minimally invasive surgical and interventional access.
