What is the difference between homoiothermic & poikilothermic?
Abstract A study was made of the wake-sleep cycle stages in poikilothermic vertebrates (catfish,Ictalurus nebulosus: grass frogs,Rana temporaria; and turtles,Emys orbicularis) by continuous recording at regular intervals of heart rhythm and motor activity. The use of this method made it possible to classify motor automatisms observed earlier in sleeplike forms of rest in poikilothermic animals and to identify two basic types of these automatisms.
