What is the difference between homicide and murder?

0

Homicide is the killing of one person by another. Murder is the intentional unlawful killing of one person by another. All murder is homicide, but not all homicide is murder. Killing someone in legal self defense is homicide but not murder.

A homicide is a death caused by another person though it’s not always criminal in nature (self-defense, assisted suicide, etc). A murder is a criminal homicide.

The same, but legally, I don’t think it’s considered homicide unless the police are involved.
