What is the difference between “Hits” and “Users” ?

0

The “Hits” in reports indicates the number of times that item was requested, whereas “Users” specifies the number of sessions (regardless of the number of times within a particular session) the item was requested. An access of a web page or a file will be processed as hits by the web server. For example, if a web page contains 5 pictures, a visit on that page will be logged as 6 “hits”: one hit for the web page and 5 hits for the pictures. A unique user is determined by the IP address. By default, a visit session is terminated when a user falls inactive for more than 30 minutes.
