Hip-hop dance is obviously American in origin (e.g. West LA style of hip-hop dance could be “crumping”), whereas on the Eastern side of the country, I am not sure that there is a certain type of dance. Ballet would be more European, and Jazz I think is also of African-American origin. Just type in “xxx origins” in google and you’ll find stuff..
