What is the difference between high definition TV and Digital TV?
HDTV is a deeper version of Digital TV that is expected to become the standard visual format at some point over the next decade in the United States. Digital TV signals are dramatically crisper than the older analog signals, but High-Definition signals are even more detailed than Digital TV signals. An HDTV-enabled television can still show Digital signals and the picture is crisp and clear, but it won’t be in high-definition until the system is prepared to deliver it. Delivering HDTV is very expensive and difficult to deploy, but FairPoint expects to be able to support it in the future.
