What is the difference between hiding and deleting a security in a Quicken data file?

0

Hiding a security in a Quicken data file has no permanent effect. It merely makes the security invisible in the Portfolio views. Securities that have been hidden can be unhidden at any time. Deleting a security is a permanent removal of all information related to that security from the Quicken data file. This includes all transaction dates, price histories, lot specifications, tax information, etc. It is impossible to delete a security from the Quicken data file unless all transactions involving that security have first been deleted. Once a security is deleted, all information related to that security cannot be recovered. See also…
