HeNe lasers penetrate the skin poorly, therefore are more suitable for superficial (skin and mucosal) lesions, superficial muscle and connective tissue injuries. Infrared lasers, such as the BioFlex System penetrate deeper and are suitable for both superficial and deeper lesions.
