What is the difference between Hellsing and Ultimate Hellsing?
Hellsing Ultimate (OVA = original video animation) follows the manga much more closely. The original Hellsing TV series follows the manga (somewhat) up until episode 5 or 6, and then goes off on a totally different storyline because the manga had not yet been completed at that time. So the OVAs are essentially the animated form of the manga. The biggest difference you will find when watching the OVAs is that the main threat is the Nazi force called Millennium, who are not in the TV series. If you liked the TV series, you’ll love the OVAs. If you have watched neither i do recomend Ultimate by a long shot.
