What is the difference between growth and performance on the ABC Accountability Program?
Growth is the degree to which students have met their expected targets for the year based on projections provided by formulas that take into account average growth rates. Performance is the overall percent of students who score proficient (Level 3 or above) within a school. They may be independent; for example, students may make exceptional amounts of growth but continue to demonstrate low proficiency levels because they started low and have so much ground to make up.
