What is the difference between grass fed and grain fed/finished?
Distinct flavor is the difference with a grain-fed / finished steer. We raise Greener Pastures Beef cattle exclusively on our Kansas pastures, in the unhurried, natural way… fed on rich, nutritious grasses and grain fed to finish for flavor and tenderness. Greener Pastures Beef tastes extra flavorful because it comes from free-range cattle. Our humane treatment and care in their handling assure you beef of excellence! Greener Pastures grain-finished beef cattle spend most of their lives in our pasture feeding on forage (grass). At 12 to 14 months of age, our cattle are moved to a smaller pasture closer to home where they receive a carefully balanced diet. This feeding period typically lasts between 130 and 150 days.
