Derrick is wrong – the greenhouse effect is the cause of global warming. The greenhouse effect is caused when light rays from the sun enter the atmosphere and hit the earth and heat the earth and that heat can’t escape the atmosphere because it is trapped by excessive amounts of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide etc.
