What is the difference between Glidecath and Glidecath XP angiographic catheters?
• Glidecath XP is an excellent choice when procedures call for extra durability and “pushability.” Its stiffer construction yields greater torque control and pushability, as well as the ability to maintain its integrity during longer procedures. It also has a nylon-rich inner layer for the smooth passage of therapeutic and embolic materials. Glidecath XP has a 5 Fr outer diameter. Much like Glidecath XP, Glidecath 4 Fr is double-braided and has a nylon-rich inner layer. However, its smaller outer diameter and large inner lumen make it more flexible and a better choice for more tortuous vasculature. Glidecath 5 Fr is single-braided giving it the softest construction of the three. This allows for superb trackability and navigation of the most tortuous vessels. Its tapered tip creates a smoother transition between guidewire and Glidecath, further enhancing trackability.
