What is the difference between giving to the School of Dentistry and giving to the Dental Foundation of North Carolina (DFNC)?
Your gifts will benefit the School of Dentistry no matter how you make your gift — to the School of Dentistry or to the DFNC. But by making your gift to the DFNC, you enable the DFNC to manage the funds for investments and expenditures that can more immediately and directly benefit the School. Gifts made to the “School of Dentistry” are held and managed by the University. Those funds still benefit the School, but the University (not the School or the DFNC) manages the funds for investments and expenditures, so those gifts are not as readily available for School use.
