What is the difference between GG14 Mathematics and Computing and GG41 Computer Science and Mathematics? Are they both joint honours degrees?
• There is not a great deal of difference between these two courses. GG14 is run by us and we are the home department. GG14 is appropriate if you see yourself as a mathematician with an interest in computing. GG41 is run by the Department of Computer Science, which is the home department. GG41 is appropriate if you see yourself as a computer scientist with an interest in mathematics. They are both joint honours degrees since they both involve two departments, but some of the computing in GG14 is taught by us and some of the mathematics in GG41 is taught by the Department of Computer Science.
