What is the difference between generic and brand named drugs?
Generic drug is a medicine which is chemically equivalent to a brand-name product, but available under its generic chemical name. A generic drug is usually called by the name of the active ingredient while a manufacturer uses a brand name. A generic drug is made with the same active ingredients in the same dosage form as a brand name drug.
