What is the difference between full-time and part-time status?
The degree of MSc in Medicine (in all programs except Applied Health Services Research) and PhD are offered to full-time and part-time students. The MSc in Applied Health Services Research is offered by full-time study only. The graduate diploma program in Community Health is only offered by part-time study. A full-time graduate student devotes full time to his or her graduate program and may not commit more than 24 hours a week working time, including teaching assistant or research assistant duties, to matters other than the degree program. Note: Students in the MAHSR program may only work up to 16 hours a week. Also, full-time students must have a funding stipend (either from faculty research grant, scholarship, fellowship, etc.) Part-time status is available to students who wish to engage in graduate studies but who are otherwise employed or for whom a funding stipend is not available. A part-time student is registered for the duration of a semester and may engage in full-time work
