What is the difference between Frosting and Icing?

Technically, I believe the difference lies in the consistency. Usually “frosting” refers to the thicker stuff you use to pipe decorations with, and “icing” refers to a thinner glaze. Throughout the tutorial section of this site, I try to use them as such; However, I tend to use the two words interchangeably and it’s hard to break old habits, so you may find inconsistencies in my use of the words. Basically, either one refers to that sugary stuff you put on cookies!
