Nothing. The hydrologic cycle constantly replenishes fresh water, via rain from the worlds oceans. The only difference in fresh water is the need to be aware of man made pollution and contaminates. Fresh water sources are much smaller in volume and can not dilute or process contaminates as efficiently as large volume oceans. Care must be taken not to over exploit the water we drink.
