What is the difference between freeware, donationware, and shareware?
What are these nebulous things? Freeware is software that is just put out there with absolutely no expectation of being compensated. Any donations for freeware are treated like gifts, with gratitude. Donationware is put out in the spirit that if you use it regularly, you should make a donation, but it is not required. We just may sneer at you after a while. Shareware is released with the understanding that if you continue to use it, you will pay the asking fee. You are in fact buying the product, We’re just not policing you.
