What is the difference between floating, gluing, nailing or stapling flooring?
Engineered floors are typically installed by floating ( glueing the tongue & groove together ), or by glueing the floor down to the subfloor using a polyurethane adhesive, which will allow the floor to move naturally. Solid flooring is typically nailed or stapled through the tongue, or nailed through the face on wider planks, into the subfloor below.
