What is the difference between Fibreglass parts and Urethane parts?
Fibreglass parts are made by combining a fibreglass cloth with resin, and hand laying it onto a (open) female mould. There are two processes for making fibreglass parts, chopper-gun and hand-laid. Some manufacturers, l only use hand-laid which is more labour intensive than chopper gun but the quality of the fibreglass is far superior. Fibreglass parts have a gel coat (primer) surface, which can be sanded and painted on. A primer coat is usually required before painting. Fibreglass parts may crack if they are stressed or impacted.
