What is the difference between Family & Friends and the traditional CPR for Family and Friends program?
Both the Family & Friends CPR Anytime kit and the traditional CPR for Family and Friends program emphasize the “core skills” of CPR – pushing on the chest (compressions) and breathing for the victim (ventilation). They also teach users/students how to recognize that an emergency exists, check the victim for signs of circulation – breathing, coughing, movement – and call 911. In a traditional CPR for Family and Friends program, relief of choking and recognizing the signs of heart attack and stroke are included, and child and infant CPR is often covered. The Family & Friends CPR Anytime program covers these topics as additional information on the DVD or in the resource booklet.
