EPS and TIFF are the best file formats for professional printing; they are high-quality, high-resolution and not lossy. JPG files are considered lossy, which means that when they are saved, they compress the data by throwing tiny bits of it away. Lossy formats degrade and lose pixel information every time you open them. JPG file formats were created mainly for use on the internet, so they usually emphasize size over quality.
