What is the difference between enlisted personnel and officers?

0

As a general rule Officers have at least a bachelor’s degree. Most officers also took classes with the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) in college or went to one of the military academies while they were earning their degrees. Those that did not do this will have started as enlisted personnel and then gone through Officers Candidates School (OCS). In general Enlisted personnel don’t have college degrees, though some may. Officers and enlisted personnel have separate ranks.
