What is the difference between Engineered Stone and Granite?
As far as durability goes granite does have the upper edge. With granite you do have to reseal. Dont let anyone fool you it is an easy wipe on and wipe off process. You can also put a hot pot and cut right on it. With Engineered Stone it never needs to be sealed. It can be cut on but if you put a hot pot on it you risk damaging the polymers in the material and causing thermal shock. So you would need to use a trivet for pots. As far as colors are concerned granite has much more to choose from and they are always changing as much Mother Nature makes each slab unique. Granite slabs offer marbled patterns that have many beautiful colors in one slab. Engineered products have solid colors only and do not offer the marbled patterns granite does. They do offer some colors such as whites, limestone and blue colored material that is not available in granite.
