What is the difference between Electronic Power steering and Rack and Pinion type?
Rack and Pinion steering is ‘manual’ steering, where the driver takes direct control over the front wheels and has a direct link between the steering wheel and their movement, without any assistance. Think of an egg whisk with a crank handle. Power steering takes various forms – in a nutshell small motors take some of the strain of turning the front wheels, so that the driver doesn’t need the same amount of effort, particularly useful in tight spaces like a city or parking lot.
