What is the difference between Egyptian cotton and Pima cotton?
While both types of cotton have a long fiber length, Egyptian cotton fibers are generally longer and stronger. Pima cotton ranks just behind Egyptian cotton in terms of quality. It is grown in the southwest United States and is named after the Pima Indians. Egyptian cotton is mainly cultivated from Egypt’s Nile River Valley. (Note: Supima® cotton is 100% pima cotton and is the second softest cotton in the world, second to Egyptian).
