What is the difference between DTV (digital), HDTV (high-definition), and SDTV (standard-definition)?
DTV is the transmission of pure digital television signals, along with the reception and display of those signals on a digital TV set and can be either HDTV (High Definition) or SDTV (Standard Definition). In general HDTV can broadcast at resolutions as high as 1920×1080, whereas the SDTV broadcast resolution only as high as 640×480.
