What is the difference between DMT and compression?
In contrast to the inherent limitations of traditional compression methods, WindSpring’s Data Miniaturization Technology (DMT) enables full data access and manipulation (including high-speed seek, search, edit and display) of Micro Data Format (MDF) data while miniaturized, without the need to enlarge the data to its original size. This unique capability leads to reduced storage requirements, faster data access and increased functionality for a large range of applications, including wireless, mobile, digital mapping, high-speed storage and search.
