What is the difference between dlp and lcd projection?

1

The lcd rear projection tvs use three lcd lights for color and illumination. The bulb rear projection tvs use a big bulb and a color wheel for color and illumination. The lcd rear projection are supposed to last longer as you don’t need to replace bulbs or color wheels, but I have been seeing some people having one of the lcd lites go out and difficulty getting it replaced (Samsung). So just be sure to research the tv you want as to reliability and parts availability. There is talk that the whole rear projection technology is being phased out. I don’t know about JVC, but it looks like there are no new rear projection Sammys for 2009.
