What is the difference between direct-drive and belt-drive, which one is best?
A Belt-Drive Blower uses a pulley system to power the blade. On a Direct-Drive Blower, the blade is mounted directly to the shaft of the engine. The Belt-Drive system is a more efficient design and eliminates vibration and movement while the blower is operating. While a direct-drive system is less expensive, it tends to walk forward and turn right. If the unit is big and heavy this sometimes eliminates this problem.
