What is the difference between digital television (DTV) and high-definition television (HDTV)?
Digital television (DTV) is a telecommunication system for broadcasting and receiving moving pictures and sound by means of digital signals, in contrast to analog signals in analogue TV. Digital television only refers to the way the program is broadcast. All digital TV variants can carry both standard-definition television ( SDTV) and high-definition television (HDTV), but it does not mean that all digital TV programs are high-definition. High-definition television (HDTV) is a format that refers to the resolution of the signal and its overall quality while digital television is a method of transmitting and receiving different television signals.
