What is the difference between Dianetics and Psychology?
“Dianetics works. Psychology-if you pick up a psychology textbook, it says, ‘Psyche means spirit, but we don’t know what a spirit is, and we don’t know if there is a spirit, and really we got rid of all that a long time ago.’ Well, Dianetics deals with the human mind. Scientology deals with the spirit, and we know something about that. We can help people. Psychology got totally taken over in the 19th century by Wundt and the physiological idea that people are animals like any other animal, and that we can put them in cages, and we can put them in boxes, and that went into Pavlov and to Skinner, and all that idea that man needs to be controlled, and can be controlled. Scientology is the exact opposite of that. We see the individual as spiritual. The individual can be free.
