What is the difference between currents and tides?
Tides shift by the rise and fall of the moon. The whole ocean, so to speak, shifts, like a bottle of water being turned. A current if you can imagine is like a canal or river running through the middle of the ocean, where a straight flow of water is running causing a current. This is usually caused by temperature differences in the water.
