What is the difference between crude oil and oil?
Crude oil is unrefined, it is the deposit of oil as it was made by natural processes. The term oil is more general and refers to hydrocarbon mixtures that are liquid at room temperature. There are many types of oil, with highly variable chemical compositions. Some are found that way and some are made that way by processing. We tend to call the various oils according to their application : motor oil, hydraulic oil, salad oil, lubricatiing oil, chain oil, and so forth. Crude means unrefined. It means that whether used for oil or for a person’s behavior.
