What is the difference between CPE and PVC?

A. Chloraloy® is made from chlorinated polyethylene (CPE). Most other shower pan liners are made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC). There are some important differences between the two polymers. For example, PVC must be plasticized in order to be flexible. Over time the plasticizers migrate out of the PVC leaving the membrane brittle and susceptible to cracking.
