What is the difference between Cosmology and Epistemology?
Eh? Cosmology is a science. It’s the study of the universe. Epistemology is a branch of philosophy. It’s the study of knowledge, ie how we know what we know. The two have nothing whatever to do with each other. Except, and maybe this is where you’re coming from, they’re both the names of very poor arguments for God. The cosmological argument goes something like ‘Look at the universe, isn’t it great, it must have been created by God!’. The epistemological argument (also known as the presupposationalist argument) goes something like ‘You can only know things for certain because logic is true, and logic is only true because of God, therefore you can’t deny my argument because only the existence of God lets your argument exist.’ Both truly rubbish.
