What is the difference between Community Plans, the General Plan and a Redevelopment Plan?
The proposed Project Area (see map above) includes the plan areas of the Tahoe Valley Community Plan, the Bijou/Al Tahoe Community Plan, and the South Y Industrial Tract Community Plan. The Community Plans set the design standards for those specific areas similarly to a city’s general plan, which is a blueprint for the entire city. The Redevelopment Plan, on the other hand, is very different, because it is a funding mechanism to help implement the goals and objectives of community and general plans.
