. There are two major differences: • Different material: COF is basically a flexible piece of film mounted with components. This allows it to be folded at any place where there are no components. TAB can only be folded at areas where it is flexible. • Different design: Besides IC bonding, other components such as resistors and capacitors can also be mounted on the COF film for voltage boosting or other functions. Only ICs can be mounted on TAB.
