What is the difference between CNC and laser cut? Which is more accurate?
The laser cut templates are cut using a laser beam at very high amount of heat to make the cut. CNC allow me to make nice center lines and reference lines on the templates. CNC cuts are cut with a CNC router with an end mill and there is very little heat. The edges of the CNC cuts are usually cleaner since the heat is very mild. Laser cut templates leave slightly burned edges due to high heat. I do not cut center lines with CNC cuts, however, there will always be a cavity, a bridge hole, etc. that can be used as a reference to align templates to the workpiece.
