To understand the difference between cloning/copying and multiple occurrences of building blocks, think of this simple illustration: cloning or copying a building block is like installing the same style window in several different houses; multiple occurrences of a building block is like multiple windows installed in one house. Cloning and copying are synonymous in is/Modeler. Cloning a building block creates a new, unique building block with qualities similar to those of the original building block. Associated costs add to the overall model costs. FTE counts may increase if labor resources are associated with the building block. The bottom line figures will probably increase when you clone or copy building block items.
