What is the difference between CL2 and CL3?
CL2 (CAS Latency 2) is a little bit faster than CL3 (CAS Latency 3) because during one step in the column accessing process you only have to wait two clock cycles instead of three clock cycles. The overall performance difference is minor, but some systems are designed to only support one type of memory or the other. When ordering memory, use memory.com’s configuration tools to find the part number you need. memory.com’s system- specific part numbers guarantee that you will get the correct technology based on what your motherboard supports.
