What is the difference between channels and parameters?

0

It is the new way of counting. The grandMA calculates internally all functions (parameters) in 16bit resolution and processes those depending on the application as single channel in 8bit resolution (e.g.brightness) or as two DMX channels per function in 16bit resolution (e.g. pan and tilt). A maximum of 16.384 parameters can be distributed in one multi-user-environment, while 32.768 channels (64 DMX lines, 16 NSPs) are required for their processing. Please note that virtual dimmers (e.g. regulation of brightness for LEDs) exist as a parameter but do not have any output as a DMX channel.
