IPAWS Profile Version 1.0 is an interpretation of a subset of CAP 1.2 standard elements. IPAWS Profile Version 1.0 further defines, constrains, and enforces various aspects of the CAP 1.2 standard, which allows a consistent warning message to be disseminated simultaneously over different warning systems. IPAWS Profile Version 1.0 builds on CAP 1.2 standard by establishing a message profile that can be used by the Nation’s Emergency Alert System (EAS) and other alert and warning systems.
