What is the difference between canvas and muslin?
Canvas is a heavier material than muslin. After painting, it must be kept rolled up between uses or when transporting to avoid reasing the material. There are pros and cons between canvas backdrops and muslin backdrops. Advantages of muslin over canvas: It is a less expensive material so you get more for your money. Be sure to randomly bunch your “Dyed Muslin” backdrop before storing it, to ensure irregular creases that enhance the great looking pattern (avoid the tendency to neatly fold the backdrop – that can create distracting – more difficult to remove – checkerboard creases in the backdrop).
